La Casa della serenità Mons.Piovella di pertinenza della Diocesi di Cagliari, nasce a Dolianova in piazza San Pantaleo agli albori del XVIII secolo (1700 circa) come sede del Vescovo di Dolia per poi essere adibita, nel corso dei secoli successivi, ad usi diversi.

Attualmente è una casa di riposo per anziani , gestita con maestria Cristiana dalle Suore Compassioniste Serve di Maria, congregazione religiosa fondata a Castellammare di Stabia Napoli, dalla beata Maria Maddalena Starace " Il Carisma che contraddistingue le Suore Compassioniste Serve di Maria, è quello di scorgere il volto compassionevole di Cristo in ogni uomo e soprattutto in coloro che soffrono, cercando di poter donare una luce nuova alla realtà improntandola sull’amore di Cristo." (Impegno Cristiano).La struttura è costituita da una comunità alloggio con 14 posti letto che ospita persone autosufficienti e 2 case protette di 50 posti letto per persone non autosufficienti e con patologie che necessitano di un’assistenza specializzata e continua.La struttura ha un suo regolamento interno che serve per sfruttare e gestire al meglio le risorse umane e professionali. È stato redatto tenendo presente le esigenze degli ospiti, dei parenti e della gestione interna. Gemellati con donazioni alla struttura ,la dr.ssa Vicenzina Basciu resp.Dipartimento aiuti umanitari Cavalieri della Cristianità e della Pace, ha creato e segue il blog:

è bastevole a se stesso: perchè declinarlo in "amore cristiano"? L'amore, a mio modesto parere, non è cristiano, nè buddista, nè islamico e/o nelle altre mille categorie che ci siamo inventati per sottrarlo alla totale gratuità.. E' amore e basta. Altrimenti, consentimi di dire, è "spurio". Con ciò nulla voglio togliere al tanto che ricevono gli anziani della vs/ comunità nè sminuire, dato l'attuale momento storico, l'importanza della vs/ azione.
